As part of the 2008 V-Day Community Campaign, Thunder Bay is proud to present a reading of A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer to raise awareness and funds for local organizations working to end violence against women and girls.

SUNDAY NIGHT @ JACK'S! festivities begin at 7:30 pm with live music provided by the fabulously female OUTSIDE THE LINES , followed by our FEATURE EVENTat 9:00 pm: a benefit reading of A MEMORY, A MONOLOGUE, A RANT AND A PRAYER:Writings To Stop Violence Against Women and Girls, a ground breaking collection of monologues by world-renowned authors and playwrights, edited by Eve Ensler (author of The Vagina Monologues) and Mollie Doyle. A Memory, A Monologue, A Rant and A Prayer is a call to the world to demand an end to violence against women. Finishing the night at 10:30pm, live music from honorary Vagina Warriors, Natural Process!

Join us as we celebrate V-Days Ten Year Anniversary, raise awareness and envision a world without violence.***VICTORY FESTIVAL 2008:SATURDAY MARCH 29 and SUNDAY MARCH 30 ***All funds raised go to support our local beneficiary, The Faye Peterson Transition House, which provides shelter, counseling, outreach, advocacy and transitional support to women and their children in crisis and abuse situations; as well as our global beneficiary, The City of Joy: Power to the Women of DRC Campaign, a project of Panzi Hospital in partnership with V-Day and Unicef. City of Joy will be a refuge for healed women, survivors of rape and torture who have been left without family and community. V-Day Thunder Bay will also donate 10% of total funds raised to The Katrina Warriors: The Women of New Orleans and the Gulf South. V-Day is working together with service providers, first-responders, artists, educators, activists under the umbrella -Katrina Warriors Network- This network of community activists is dedicated to helping these women to rebuild their lives.
